Human Resources Development (HRD) recently welcomed a new face to ADRS as the department’s new personnel manager.
Tracy Francisco assumed her post May 1.
“When I first arrived,” Francisco said, “this new job immediately felt like home to me. (HRD Director) Jane Elizabeth Burdeshaw is a wonderful mentor. In my short time here at Rehab, I’ve already learned so much about the job and the department’s culture and organization.”
Prior to joining the department, Francisco spent 13 years as a personnel analyst with Alabama State Personnel. Before becoming employed with the state, she worked in human resources in the private sector.
“Tracy came to us with knowledge of existing policies and procedures from Day One,” Burdeshaw said, “and though she’s only been here since early May, she’s already made a noticeable impact by streamlining some HRD processes to boost efficiency and eliminate waste.”
As personnel manager, Francisco oversees personnel transactions for the department’s 800 merit system staff.
Francisco said that it is the passion of Rehab employees and their drive to serve others that have made an impression on her.
“What I enjoy most about my job is working with people,” she said. “In my world, employees are my customers, and I’m so glad to be here to serve such a dedicated and selfless bunch.”
